Nice sound and the set list is very good. Another inverted Playing In The Band, sort of like the Portland Maine show in 85. Just not as inverted if that even makes sense. This one here is the album style Playing In The Band 4 minute version.
Having been to every show in 86 87 I do not often listen to these years. Just thought I would give 1 a try this A M . Is very good show. Also any time I come across these names of the tapers I know the quality is above and beyond. Thanks for the work you put into to this site.

this show has quite a unique sound ...likely due to the excellent recording (this is an aud, no? why no DL?) But also the band had a unique thing going on around then too.. I saw both of these shows, we camped in our car for the weekend, it was unbelievably hot, but such a great time. This is still one of my favorite 4 tunes to open a show, they just wail thru them, amazing. Also -- check out Bobby in the Stranger jam ... the stuff he does leading up to the crescendo is nutty, som of my fav playing of his. Cheers.

Classic Jerry Lyric Flub
1987 was a great year for shows. It really seemed like the band was jazzed about their recent successes and the new songs they could perform.
A couple of things that stand-out for me on this show are the classic Jerry lyric flub on Fire On the Mountain during the "...more that you give, the more it will take" part!! Classic Bobby dropping the f-bomb during Women Are Smarter. Nice post drumz/space sequence as well.

ACROSS THE LAZY RIVER............
Like the 1st person to review this show, I too like to cross the Rio Grandeo!!!!!! Nice 1/2 Step and a very cool show! Love the Weir "F" bomb in Woman Are Smarter!!!! Soundboard is a little "tinty" sounding, but overall good '87 sound!!!!! Hard to believe it's been 24 years......
The night before this show is when shot the "Touch Of Grey" video. When the show ended the 1st night they told the crowd that they were going to shoot the video and most everyone stayed on the grounds. It was a really fun night and they next day they came out and played this show. Ry Cooder and Bruce Hornsby opened up. It was a great show and it sound as good as I remember it many years later. "I received your letter yesterday..." in Desolation Row sent shivers up my spine then and now. Out of the 150 dead shows that I saw back in the day this one seems to have held up pretty well.
Nothing memorable until Women Are Smarter ~7:10.
For a great May 10, try 1986.
Great work again though Charlie, Joani, Paul. Thx.

No I was not there, but this recording made me feel like I was.
NO way man! The audience tapes are a true representation of what the sound of music was really like at Laguna Seca. The PA started making overmodulated farting sounds early on the first day and never stopped. Mickey blew out one entire stereo channel during SPACE on Saturday afternoon.
Sunday AUDs sound little better. Bill Graham and the GDP crew never could fix the rotten sound. So they used a SHORELINE style system with a second row of speaker towers located half way up the hill in 1988. Listen to the 7/29/88 show and hear the difference with the right system for the raceway.
We camped out for that whole weekend. It was 90+ degrees in the shade. At least we had some good weed and partied our azzes off...
Just listened to this whole show thru my home system.... Had the cops called on me (no lie)...It sounds that GOOD I had to turn it all the way up. The MHS is killer... Always fun to cross the Rio Grandeo. Again, Charlie and crew come thru with flying colors. If you have a stereo system that can play streams or you are able to record them get this version. No I was not there, but this recording made me feel like I was.
